If you have an Element that is included in visibility formulas for other Elements, once it has a value set, that value is used in any formula calculations even if that Element is subsequently hidden via other answers effecting its own visibility formula.
Similarly, when a Salesforce field is mapped to an Element, even if that Element is hidden via its own visibility formula, the mapped value can still be referenced in formulas for other Elements.
